St. Joseph Update for 5-25-20
The Mass schedule for next weekend (May 30th & 31st) will be the same as this weekend. You will attend the Mass you signed up for and attended this week. Confessions will be held at the regular times (3:30 PM on Saturday, May 30th; 7:30 AM and at 9:30 AM on Sunday, May 31st.) Confessions will be heard in the church hall. The faithful remain dispensed from the obligations to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation.
There will probably be some changes to the number of people that can attend Mass starting in June. We will post updates as soon as they are available.
We’ve made some changes to the adoration chapel hours. Perpetual adoration will be on Thursdays. The tabernacle will be opened at 4:00 AM and closed at 5:00 PM. This is the only time during the week it will be opened to expose the Blessed Sacrament. We need to have at least 2 people signed up for every hour between 4:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Someone needs to be there at all times. It is best to have a minimum of 2 people assigned to each hour in case someone can’t make it. Please call Ms. Ginger Harbert at 337-912-5663 to sign up for an hour. You may continue to go to the chapel on any day and time; however, the tabernacle will be closed. Only Father Carlos and Deacon Menard should open and close the tabernacle.
*Thank you to everyone that has called to sign up for an hour. It is very important that we have someone (hopefully at least 2 people) take the 4:00 AM hour on Thursday. This is the time that Deacon can open the tabernacle, but we need to have someone there in order to open it at that time. Please prayerfully consider taking this hour on Thursdays.
We would like to honor our recent graduates. We are unable to have our usual tribute, but we would still like to acknowledge your accomplishments. There will be a sign-up sheet on the table at the entrance of the church for the next two weekends. Sign in as you enter for Mass so Father will know who is present for that particular Mass. This will be for 12th grade and up. You will not wear your robes or follow the procession at the beginning of Mass. You will sit with your family. Congratulations to all our 2020 graduates!
Our food pantry is running very low on supplies. We know this is a difficult time for everyone and people are not going to the stores as often as they usually would. We have continued to place our donated pantry items in our blessing box by the church. If possible, we ask you to please pick up a couple of extra items while you are shopping to help us fulfill this need. Donations may be dropped off at the rectory during regular office hours (Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM with lunch at 12:00 – 1:00). All donations are welcome. Single serve and small portion items are used the most. Thank you for your generosity.
We are still not sure if we will have Vacation Bible School and our Family Fun Day that was previously scheduled has been postponed. We will also post updates on these two events as we get more information.
